Southside Snipers Prepare to Defend Title

It’s hockey time again fans. The defending Western Conference champions are set to begin their second season in Professional Inline Hockey Association’s Gateway Division. Coming off an extremely successful first season where the SNIPERS found themselves one win away from winning the PIHA Cup, they begin their second annual training camp. Anyone interested in attending training camp, it will be held at the home of the Snipers, All American sports, November 13th and 20th at 7:00 pm both nights. The Snipers had themselves a successful off season personnel wise. First of all, they were able to re-sign their top players from a year ago, defensemen Tommy Bruce, Chris Loness, and Adam Clarke, forwards Phil Maroon, Zack Reis, Rob Carroll, and Joe Altnether, and the backbones of the group, goaltenders Dustin Brown and Dave Garland. In other off season transactions, the Snipers were able to add through trade forward Jeremy Scott. The Sniper’s management and coaching staff are happy with their 2007 draft picks, JJ McAtee and Todd Hoeferlin. The Snipers begin the regular season on the road December 7th at Omni Sportsplex taking on the River City Whalers at 6:30 pm. The much anticipated home opener will be on December 21st at 6:30 pm as they take on the St Louis Cobras. We look forward to seeing you at the rink for an upcoming Snipers event.
